Precipitated calcium carbonate PPC

Precipitated calcium carbonate is also a product derived from lime, which has many industrial applications. Precipitated calcium carbonate is produced by hydrating high calcium quicklime, and then by reacting the resulting sludge, or “milk of lime”, with carbon dioxide. In the precipitated calcium carbonate process, products can be obtained with very small sizes, with large surfaces, with high oil absorption, or with different bulk densities of the powder (from very low densities to very high densities). The different forms allow precipitated calcium carbonate to act as a functional additive in sealants, adhesives, plastics, rubber, inks, paper, drugs, and food supplements.
