Lime is the second most important material after sulfuric acid, it is used for pesticides, insecticides and fungicides, it is an excellent bleach or it works perfectly as an absorbent agent or as a chlorine carrier in many dry bleaches. Lime is used as a base in the production of most inorganic salts based on calcium and magnesium. Organic chemicals are used in the process of making ethylene glycol (permanent antifreeze).
